Muddy, yes, but I've seen and worked in much worse. Even so, I thought the lot was in relatively great shape. I completely understand how this is a challenge when they must be kept up in a lot at night. My only complaint was that the horses were a bit cruddy. I think this outfit has it figured out, and I wish more places operated this way. It's always a nice experience for me to sit back and let someone else worry about the guests, and there is no better way to see the countryside than on horseback. I enjoyed Loretta, and my husband got along great with Chewie. Our wrangler did a great job, and our horses were great matches for us. Was beautiful, and just about as long as my husband wanted to ride. Loved the Beaver Meadows 2 hr ride we did at the Moraine Park location. We rode at their Estes Park location in 2014, and were extremely pleased, so I knew I wanted to use the same outfit again this trip. No huge climbs for the guests who can't physically mount without help. I also like the loading/unloading ramps they use, as this must be easier on the horses' backs.

No need to weigh guests (or even have that conversation) is all of your horses can carry the weight (or height, in our case). This is genius, in my opinion, since drafts tend to have a more mellow temperament, and their size drastically reduces the rider weight issues that are common in the industry. I LOVE the fact that they use mostly drafts and draft crosses for the guests. That is why I chose this outfit to begin with.

We are both very tall people as well, and I like to make sure they are going to have horses to fit us. I worked for years as a wrangler, but my husband has only been on a horse a few times, so I am extremely picky as to where I take him riding.
